Why do you want to be a trustee?

W&L gave me so much in terms of academic preparation, social education and overall experience, I feel compelled to continue to give back to the University that gave me so much.  To me this role is an outstanding way to continue to give back and provide incremental support for our University.  It is a role that has appealed to me for a long time and I would be excited to serve.

Describe the experience and perspective you bring.

My experience with W&L is long.  I have served as Class Agent, a SPEAK volunteer, Reunion Chair, Reunion Committee member, Annual Fund Council, and as Chair of the Annual Fund for 5 years.  I am proud of our results when I was Chair of the Annual Fund.  It was a particularly tumultuous time for our school and I was proud to lead our efforts during that time.  From a non-W&L perspective, I serve on two boards currently.  I am in my 7th year as a Trustee for Charlotte Country Day School where I serve as Treasurer and Secretary and am a member of the Executive Committee. Additionally, I am a long serving member of the Board of Governors at Quail Hollow Club where I serve as Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee.  Additionally, I am one of 5 members on our PGA Steering Committee which is responsible for managing our relationship with the various bodies of Professional Golf.  Finally, I served on the Host Committees for the 2017 PGA Championship, the 2022 Presidents Cup and am serving on the Host Committee for the 2025 PGA Championship.  All of these experiences have resulted in me navigating tricky issues and have required me to use my relationship building tools in high pressure situations.  I also have had to thoughtfully consider organizational and strategic decisions from a longer term perspective.  The experience I bring from a W&L perspective and from my outside boards uniquely qualify me for this important role.
